Open Meets Guidance
Open Meets
Open Meets are events which are open to swimmers (usually Cat 2 Club Compete) who meet the relevant age and time qualifications set for the event. Each swimmer is competing for improved times and medals.
Supported
Linslade Crusaders attends various Open Meets throughout the year, at various levels, so that all swimmers are able to compete at the right level for them.
Linslade Crusaders SC send out a post to relevant squads about an upcoming Open Meet with either entry via Team Unify or instructions on emailing entries in. Entries need completing carefully, by the deadline and the correct payment made. Delaying this holds up the whole club entry file, risks us missing out on entries and causes more work for our Meets volunteer.
Unsupported
Meets that are not listed on the club’s fixtures calendar, are not supported by the club. This may be because of the number of meets in the calendar, clashes with other events, and poor timing in relation to the annual training schedule.
Although not actively encouraged, swimmers who choose to enter unsupported meets would need to enter independently via the club hosting the meet, as an individual entry. This also means that it is the responsibility of the parent/guardian to purchase a pool side/Coach/TM pass as Linslade Crusaders won’t supply these, or you can often make arrangements that another club looks after the swimmer. Please also be aware that parents/guardians may still
be expected to provide officials.
Older swimmers entering Masters events are also unsupported and arrangements are made themselves.
Where any unsupported meet is entered a parent needs to complete this Google Form giving the Head Coach details:
Where any unsupported meet is entered it is the parent/guardian’s responsibility to email the results file to openmeetentries@linsladecrusaders.club
